The real budget problem

I'm getting really sick of all the wrangling over which stuff needs to be cut from the federal budget. If we taxed the rich and the corporations at the levels from the Kennedy/Johnson administrations (or even the Reagan administration, for that matter), we not only wouldn't be talking about government shutdowns and budget cuts, but there'd be money for creating real jobs and improving services.

The real problem with the budget—and in Washington in general—is a lack of political will.
