The Wrong Choice?

Rachel Maddow asks whether the Rick Warren choice is The Wrong Choice.

Other problems with Pastor Rick can be found in Katha Pollit's column in the LA Times.

And Bruce Wilson provides more context on who exactly Warren has been promoting. Bruce noted that the Archbishop of Nigeria, Peter Akinola, put in place anti-gay laws that are worst than the Third Reich, yet Warren publicly endorsed this man.

It's too bad Obama didn't look more into the background of this preacher, because many Americans would find his actual philosophy rather outrageous.

That and the fact that Warren doesn't believe in evolution and believes he can convince people that dinosaurs and humans roamed the earth together at one time.

Sure does sound like someone who is going to have a lot to teach us as we head into a world where careful attention to science and facts will be necessary to head off chaos.

Why have an invocation at all? We're not universally convinced that Rick Warren's god exists, or that he exists in the form Warren believes. Seems to me that we can leave that thinking to individual Americans. Since this is our government, we should be leaving it to individual Americans at a government function.

Rick Warren, and all as he, should be hanging from the nearest lamp-post. He, they, is, are, an enemy of the American People, enemies of the American Way of Life.

Animals, fit only for extinction.
