The Party Everywhere

All over the country, all over the world, people are celebrating. Here in Philadelphia, there were scattered honks and cheers as late as 1am out in West Philly, which is pretty far from the celebration at City Hall.

Sadly, there were a lot of ballot initiative losses for the LGBT community, and some of the congressional races that went the wrong way provided another bitter note. Also, pundits are spinning like mad to explain why nothing about this election, just like nothing about the 2006 election, disproved their conventional operating thesis that America is fundamentally a center-right country. The world is not made perfect, even if it is a damn sight more relieved.

I expect I should probably wait a day or so to launch into full-throated complaining about the state of things. We can chill out for a day, right? Yeah. Right.

But I think I am going to step away from the computer a bit. I will. If you don't want to, though, feel free to continue the party with some '80s music video satire that will leave those of us who recognize the graphic in the YouTube on sight snickering for at least half an hour.

I guess a new world dawning and all the parties doesn't mean the spam bots go away.

Your video reminded me of Chris Griffin stumbling into "Take On Me."
