Why Our Politics Are F*d Up

Because centrism is now defined as being willing to pass a law giving immunity for blatantly unconstitutional activity.

In other words, follow closely here, upholding the Constitution is a partisan left position in American politics now. Utterly disregarding it is the partisan right position. Deciding that utter disregard for it needs to be smoothed over by special legal dispensation, so we don't have to settle the question distastefully in court, is centrist.

I literally cannot believe we are having this conversation.

It's gotten to the point where merely opposing Republican political ideas and the Bush Administration gets you branded a far left wing kooky alarmist.

Being agains wasting hundreds of billions of dollars and lives in Iraq gets you branded an america hater.

Meanwhile the MSM still tries to pass off O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, and Beck as 'main stream'.

I hate seeing our politicians pander to an imaginary center. Even worse is seeing them pander to an even smaller demographic, the fundies.

Consider me a far left wing kooky alarmist. The Constitution and any rule of law seem completely obsolete at this point. This administration alters what it cannot fit into, ignores what it cannot alter, and denies what it cannot ignore. The idea of our nation as a shining example to the world has long ago been tossed away. It is hard to imagine being able to restore any of what the Bush Administration has given up, especially when witnessing how pliable our "defenders" in D.C. are.

It's getting to the point that I should just buy vanity plates that say "DFH" on them and be done with it.

Follow the Money, take it out of campaigns and may be the members of both houses would care more about the voters. What a concept the unwashed masses in control.
