Jena Six

The protest march in Jena is today. Activists will turn out to express their objections to the treatment of six black high school students given harsh sentences over their involvement in a fight that followed when white students hung nooses from a tree they'd sat under.

There's a tricky gray area here that people need to be careful on in that the sentence was blatantly racist and did not fit the level of their actions. However, I saw far too many people on the TV reports down there who are making the Jena Six out to be a lot holier than they actually are. Yes, the penalty did not fit the crime and was racist. Yes, the whites who put the noose on the tree were doing something that is highly insensitive, inflammatory and also racist. But the six boys are hardly innocent in all this, and do merit some punishment.

Erm, when the incident in question was predated by a white guy brandishing a firearm at a group of black youth, the blacks wrestling it away from him and then being charged with theft of a firearm, something is very, very wrong.

Wrong will always be wrong, no madtter if everyone is doing it.

Right will always be right, even if no one is doing it.

Was a crime committed?

Was there a victim to this crime?

Were there any witnesses?

I no longer openly and unquestioningly believe what I read, hear or see.

Someone will twist it to thier use.

Someone will selectively forget to mention pertinent facts to protect thier own interrests.

Someone will add thier own conjecture and propell it to fact.

be your own mind and thought.

This is just complete crap!!...For one I agree that there was no murder intent on both parts, whites and the blacks but do you not think if 6 people and I say people not black or white or asians etc beat up 1 person to a pulp, do you not think that there is a very legitament reason for those to go to jail? I don't know if words or pranks or whatever mean you have the right to physically attack another human being? Now, with this issue about black vs whites, wtf, black people get over your bitterness towards whites..I haven't met 1 black person who doesn't give whites an attitude in everyday situations as if this generation of whites were the ones responsible for what happen to their fore fathers etc...NOT OUR BEEF..Get it? It has come to the point where white people cannot say a damn thing about anything pertaining to the black race and their culture. BUT it is perfectly fine for them to put the white race,asians,their own race etc down? GROW Up you stupid ignorant,grudge holding,hipacrits!! Not only your race but all races...Grow UP!!
