Hear ye, Hear ye

Okay, so, I'm going to be starting a new blog in a couple weeks. And in about a week and a half, I'm starting grad school. And, and, am working with some folks on an answer to the question that is griped about wherever two or more bloggers are gathered together (and I have been gathering together with a lot of bloggers lately,) which is why we're a bunch of broke-ass, exhausted no-life-having people whose significant others (if they're still with us) are completely fed up. (Yeah, so we spend a lot of time on the computer, wiseguy. We know that. And no, 42 isn't funny. ;-P ) We're past the breaking point, broken already, and yet we persist in this odd compulsion, and you persist in showing up to read the results.

We talk about it a lot, but don't write about it all that much. We do actually like doing this, but also, we know you only love us for our keen analysis of current events and fabulous collections of links that you just wish you had time to track down. (Except you don't wish it that hard, because then you'd be a broke-ass, exhausted, no-life-having blogger.) Are we just news monkeys to you? Really? And after all this time, I thought we had something, here. Sigh. I'm not a bad girl, you know, I just write that way.

(You would not even believe how good blogging is at keeping a person out of trouble. They should use it as a supplement to methadone treatment and/or probation.)

Anyhow, this is why, in addition to a couple new gigs, I haven't been posting much. For the next couple weeks, the PV DC bureau is likely to be mighty quiet. Unless you're up for a lot more nonsensical meta, and I can see that impatient tapping from here. But there will be guest posters, possibly a couple new regular contributors, and the fabulous Mary and Magpie, so you should keep visiting.

Just wanted to send a little shout out to say that all's well. Enough. Back in a bit.

Magpie - You have at last uncovered my evil plan, but everyone loves your posts, so if that's what it takes ...

Prophylactic typing....who'da thunk it? ;-)

So are you going to tell us about your new website, or are you going to make us actually, you know, use Google and stuff?

Oh, and if one of your issues is what I think it is, the following link might be a good place to look into some parallel options; I know one of the people involved in it from a few years back and he might be willing to provide some tips.

My two bits...

When the new site launches, PV readers will be the first to hear about it. But it isn't up yet. Hence the alternate use of my time. Except that there's the Burner drive this weekend, couldn't skip that.
