Farm-grown Fish Fed Contaminated Feed

In the face of more melamine contamination, the administration utters the deadly "R" word.

Officials also said they are looking at how to improve the overall system of regulating feed imported for pets, livestock, fish and other animals.

Many so-called "wild" salmon are actually raised in fish farms called hatcheries for up to a year before being released into the ocean to get big and be caught.

Contaminated feed was fed to fish in hatcheries, so the feed scandal is affecting so-called wild salmon as well.
