Public Service Announcement

The blogging world has changed tremendously since I got seriously hooked back in September 2002 and many of those changes have been good ones. But the demands on our time and the enormous quantity of good blogs has led to the winnowing of the blogs into several categories: the super-popular A-list blogs, the excellent B and C list blogs, legions of blogs that are good, but without a large audience, and the tens of thousands of blogs that start, go for awhile and die without much notice. And sometimes some of the more valuable blogs in blogtopia don't get nearly enough readership for the exceptional reporting and educating they do. One such blog is David Neiwert's Orcinus.

David is a professional journalist with a deep expertise in the extremist right movement. For more than four years he's been providing us the background and the knowledge to understand how the right wing is mainstreaming their extremism and the danger we face if we let them get away with this. David has given us the foundation for our common progressive knowledge of what's going on.

Despite his wonderful work, he has been wondering whether he should continue blogging and if he has reached the limit of what he can do in this format. Fortunately for us, he's decided to continue on and as he says, he's brought on Sara Robinson to help explore more what we can do about the defusing the strength of the right wing extremists.

But, in order to continue, he needs our support. Please go support David's work and thank him for providing us this incredible resource.

Don't miss his latest incredible series on eliminationism in America.

Thanks so much for the nice link, Mary, as well as all the kind words. Of course, I think our early correspondence may have played a role in your deciding to blog, so I'm probably as proud of that as anything I've written.
