Phew. ... Gaaah!

I took the GRE yesterday. There was much rejoicing, dinner and then a coma. 740 on the verbal, which is apparently pretty decent. 730 on the quantitative, which the percentile comparisons indicate to be unembarassing but not thrilling. The essay scores won't be in for a while, but if I don't know how to write a decent essay by now, I should really just pack up the old keyboard.

Somebody, somewhere, out of the abiding charity and goodness of their hearts might just let me into a graduate program in communication.

And now, for the moving. Sometime near the 20th or so, Pacific Views will be opening a Midwest bureau headquartered in beautiful, downtown Madison, WI. Eeek. I've been studying instead of preparing for the transition, so while the moving van is coming late next week, I have yet to really start packing. Just like my sister said would happen. Some things never change.

Anyway, just checking in. I'm not dead yet. Haven't fallen off the face of the earth, only a little preoccupied of late. Regular service should resume sometime within the next month. Which is about a year, give or take, internet time.

I got into grad school with GMAT scores. Thank god those awful days of testing are over. Thank god.

I once moved to Madison, WI so that my husband could attend grad school. We loved it. Moving away from there, six years later, was the saddest move we ever made.

If you are headed to Madison, you should enjoy attending WisCon on Memorial Day weekend -- it is one of the biggest feminist-oriented science fiction conventions in the US.

Not much of a view of the Pacific, but plenty of shorelines ... and the winters will help you appreciate the summers!
