Go East, Young Woman

Well, I've been meaning to post this last week, really I have. I open up my laptop, read a little bit, find something I'd like to link to or talk about, bookmark it or leave the window open and then amble off to do something else. My blogging compulsion cycle seems to have been broken, but for various reasons, I'm thinking it's temporary.

Granted, there was a bit of an inclination to slack post-election. That was a pretty intense week, a nailbiting, edge of your seat sort of thing. A person could reasonably be expected to want a little chill time after that, particularly with the holidays coming up. But really what it is, is this: I'm moving to Wisconsin in January.

I applied for an internship out there and got the good news the Friday after the election. At first, I was all with the 'wahooo!' and went out for Thai and got my ears pierced, just for the heck of it. And then I was like, 'dude, I'm leaving Washington State in a little over two months and probably not coming back, excepting the occasional visit, for a very long time, if ever.'

So I've been getting ready for an exam I need to take and setting household details in order, as you might imagine. But I've also been spending just about all my available time hanging out with friends, talking, going out, walking around, lingering over coffee, watching shows and chatting about them after, which seems appropriate under the circumstances.

I'll be around the blog, now and about, for the next couple months, but probably a little on the light side. Anyway, it's the holiday season. Go hang out with *your* friends & family. And I'll always be, at heart, a left coaster, so the blog name will still suit me, and the crew here, fine.

Though we'll be on the lookout for someone to come blog with us from Washington; prospects encouraged to contact Mary, who's our beloved volunteer personnel director ;)

Aw man this is messed up, although I'm happy for you. The left coast will never be the same you gone.

Leaving you a comment just to let you know that, in fact, I do read your blog! I just heard from a friend who met you at YKos and had nothing but complimentary things to say about you, including : "Natasha is an excellent writer, and appears to have no ego issues."
