Ask Murray and Cantwell to Boot Lieberman

Joe Lieberman is now campaigning with Republicans. He's using a Republican pollster.

If you're here in Washington, please call Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell and ask them to petition Minority Leader Harry Reid to strip Lieberman of his committee assignments and caucus privileges. If you're in another state, find your Senators here.

Some may express the worry that this will cause Holy Joe to bolt the party. Umm.

Murray in D.C. - (202) 224-2621

Cantwell in D.C. - (202) 224-3441
Cantwell's toll-free in-state number - (888) 648-7328

Come to think of it, look up your House representative, too. Lieberman's campaigning with Republican House candidates and actively threatening the ability of Democrats to regain control of the House.

Update: Down With Tyranny! has more on the decline of Joementum and links to Jane's piece on FireDogLake where she notes that Lieberman has already broken his word to Minority Leader Reid when he said that he wouldn't bolt the party. He's gone, baby, gone. Make sure the door hits him on the backside.

Another picture to add to the visual. If Joe isn't booted now, picture him in Zell Miller's role at the RNC mic come Convention night '08 run on all the MSM. Chris Matthews mewing to him. The Rep's will squeeze every ounce out of play they can get from him. Cantwell & Murray and the DNC owe it at the very least to the other Dems running in CT because he will offset their campaigns.

That Zell Miller comment gives me the shivers. Lieberman has abandoned the party, and now it's time for the party to abandon him. I have called both the Murray and Cantwell offices, but I don't expect either of our bland, mild-mannered senators to rock the boat on this issue.

edgeplot: I wish I knew how to do one of those transformational views of Lieberman into Zell, the way they used the Lieberman into Bush view for the Lamont campaign. A good YouTube of it sent over to not just our Senators but all the Dems just might shake a few of them up.
