So Long, And Thanks For All The Coffee

This will be my last post from Costa Rica for this time (The Juan Santamaria airport in Alajuela, San Jose offers free wi-fi), but definitely not my last post about it. I've still got some good bug pictures left over and a lot to write about coffee: the people who grow it, the people who process it and the market they sell it in.

But even if they never read this, and they probably won't, I wanted to say thanks again to my homestay family. (Especially Guiselle, I would have been in bad shape yesterday without the empanadas for the bus trip, muchisima gracias.) Thank you cousin Betsy for the going-away manicure. Thanks to Eduarda & Yazna for letting me stay with them in San Jose. Thanks to Eliot and Brendan at the Finca Project for their friendship and help. And thanks to Julieta for putting me in touch with who and what I needed during my stay, as well as hiking to Caņas Gordas with me to weigh my samples. Twice.

Welcome back, natasha - although I think you will sometimes regret leaving that lovely country with the hospitable and optimistic Ticos. And that is especially true as you come back to our disfunctional country which continues to go off the cliff.
