The Governator goes on a veto rampage.

While most of the national coverage has focused on California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's veto of a bill that would have legalized same-sex marriages, the Governator didn't stop there.

Given that the Governator's approval rating is down to 33 percent, he's undoubtedly trying to firm up his core support for next year's elections, hoping that gay men, lesbians, minimum-wage workers, and victims of employment discrimination don't remember these vetoes.

Hardly. This is just the Governator realizing that he is tremendously personally unpopular and that he needs the Republican party more than it needs him (a stark reversal compared to the situation when he came into office). Additionally, I expect someone has whispered in his ear that the chumps who don't usually vote in regular elections that came out and voted for him in CA's recall because it was so shiny and novel... still won't come and vote at all when it comes to reelection. A large part of why he's governer won't be there to make him re-governer.
