Cheney's Office Showed Urgent Action In Face of Katrina Crisis

Josh Marshall has an interesting little tidbit. Turns out Cheney's office put out directives to get the power restored ASAP to the oil pipeline in Mississippi immediately after the hurricane rushed through. It is striking in what a different sense of urgency was shown in getting disaster relief to the people of Mississippi some who waited for 4 days or more for water to be brought in.

Let's see. Major disruption. Poor planning for the situation. But the Bush administration knows what is important to protect as the looters rampaged in Iraq after the immediate fall of Baghdad. Is there a pattern here?
