Yay, me!

Grades came back today and in spite of many fears that I'd never be able to do it, I'm going to get my associate of sciences degree in biology and transfer to the four-year school I've been accepted to.

I'm excited about it, but more relieved than anything else at this point. I was worried that I wouldn't stick with it, that I'd be terrible at my classes, and that I was just too old to really get into the swing of going to college. Never been more glad to be wrong, wrong and wrong again.

As a biologist myself I have to say biology is addictive especially in these changing times. You're doing a great job and probably know more about the practical stuff than most of your peers. Great job-keep up the good work!!!

Excellent and Congratulations!

That's awesome!

I'm planning to begin on a somewhat similar path this fall: community college classes, then a transfer to a four-year college to finally (finally, finally) finish my degree. I'm terrified of a lot of the same things you seem to have been, but also excited.

Congrats Natasha!

(Just don't tell my mother that you're never to old to go back to school. I'm 42, and she's still nagging me to go to law school.)

Thank you ladies & gents, I feel all warm and glowy now. :)

Steve & Goldy: If you're worried about how old you'll be when you get out, just remember that you're eventually going to be that old anyway. That's what I keep telling myself.

congratulations, natasha! isn't it cool when you find out that something you want to do, you can do well?

Well, natasha, I guess I'm thrilled to be someone who can say, "I told you so!" I'm very happy to hear that you've nailed that associates degree. A biology degree next seems to be right up your alley. (With a minor in journalism?)

Congratulations. :-)

Next up:

You're never too old to be Managing Editor of Nature (or insert favorite Biology peer-review publication here).

You've done us proud. Nice to know so many people care, huh?
