North of the Border

The Canadian parliament passed legislation to legalize same-sex marriage today, joining Belgium and the Netherlands in offering its gay and lesbian citizens the same rights and responsibilities as the rest. Congratulations, Canada.

Also, in response to the fact that Americans are using Canada as a prescription drug store, the Canadian government isn't sure it wants to share its supply of reasonably priced medications out of a concern that it will destabilize their health system.
