Darwin's posse???

Yep, Charles Darwin has one.

And if you're tired of the religious right's attempts to undermine the teaching of evolution in the public schools, maybe you should join it.

Join Darwin's posse!

Without more public displays of affection for the theories of natural selection and evolution, it is likely that more and more schools will allow or even promote the teaching of evolution "alternatives" that invoke magic by supernatural entities. To provide some of the needed visible support for science and reason, please consider distributing Darwin-themed bookmarks to your geeky friends, or by stickering something with his image. Sure, these efforts are probably completely futile, but wouldn't you sleep better tonight knowing that you've done your part to delay our slip into Dark Ages II, even if only by a few days?

The site has PDF files for stickers and bookmarks, along with suggestions of what to do with them. This effort may be small potatoes, but it's still nice to see some in the scientific community taking imaginative action to counter the propaganda of 'intelligent design' reactionaries.

I want to talk about Terri Schiavo, who is a vegetable. Harvest her organs (if she is an organ donor) and save the lives of five to ten other people. Now that would truly be "Pro-Life," and not a shadow of valuing life.

If no one else will break the ice, I will:

Terri Schiavo story is tragic, you cannot deny that (and my heart goes out to her family) but the way the reactionaries are acting is much, much worse. I mean, just look at that poor being, vacant, and drooling all over her-self. The so-called ‘moral‘ play that the religious wrong is conducting is an abomination. These same people support bombing the hell out of innocent people around the world and they have the audacity to call themselves "pro-life." The have no concept of what life is.

Another example of foolish dogma that has plagued our western:

Q: What has six electrons, six protons, and six neutrons?

A: The Carbon Molecule.

Q: What is a definition of an organism?

A: A carbon producing being.

The sign of the so-called "beast of life" is 6-6-6, a carbon producing organism. It is no wonder that these ultra-religious, dogma dependant fools are so against true life on Earth. These are the demons of our society! Their days are ‘numbered.’

Cheers!
