You can't get much clearer than this.

Given the increased Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, Dubya's administration isn't making any attempt to hide whose interests its energy policies are serving. From Reuters:

Congress should approve drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to boost U.S. oil supplies, but shouldn't require more electricity to be generated from renewable energy sources, a senior Bush administration energy official told lawmakers on Thursday.

The clincher is the job title held by David Garman, the official who was testifying. He's that Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

Our brain hurts.

Should we have some relief that for a moment they forgot to lie? If they drop their obfuscations more frequently, perhaps more will perceive the games? Good Lord: what will they have us do when the 15 minutes' worth of oil from ANWR is gone?
