Another bloody milestone.

The number of US troops killed in Iraq passed the 1000 mark today. And we won't even talk about the number of Iraqis who've died since the US invasion.

We wonder whether Dubya has given even a passing thought to the lives that have been lost because of his choice to go to war against Saddam Hussein.

Just for comparison: It took more than four years of US military involvement in Vietnam for 1000 US troops to die. As best we can tell, the 1000th Vietnam death occurred some time in the first half of 1966.
