Another 'Swift Boat Veteran' wasn't there.

The Portland Oregonian reports that one of the veterans who attacked John Kerry's Vietnam war record in the 'swift boat' ad didn't witness the events in question.

In the ad, Oregon Vietnam vet Alfred French says: 'I served with John Kerry. . . . He is lying about his record.' But it turns out that French didn't actually witness the events that led to Kerry's receiving some of his military decorations. Instead, French relied on the accounts of three other vets when deciding whether Kerry has been telling the truth.

How much more of this story has to fall apart before it goes away? And how come Dubya has gotten off so easily on his Vietnam service?

This is turning into "Swift Boat Veterans For Aiding Karl Rove Distoritions of John Kerry"

I don't know what I want to see more -- Bush ejected from the Whit ehOuse or Karl Rove drawn and quartered for his low-ball tactics in politics.

As the swift boat liars story falls apart Bush is going to wish he had taken McCain's advice a couple of weeks ago and really condemended the ads. Hell even that left winger Bill O'Reilly thinks they are full of it.

The guy's a county prosecutor. He seems to have a curious idea about hearsay, uncorroborated evidence, and other, shall we say, niceties about establishing proof.

Sorry John F, but I cant help myself.

"Swift Boat Veterans For Aiding Karl Rove Distoritions of John Kerry related program activities"

If I can bolt any phrase to "program activities" I am compelled to do so.

On topic, Jeebus Christ, can someone rescusitate the fourth estate, so that increadibly stupid crap like this is unlikely to see the light of day.
