Here's a profile of the seven couples who sued the state for the right to marry, all of whom have been guaranteed waivers for MA's three day waiting period. I'd like to draw your particular attention to a common feature of some of the planned ceremonies:
...solemnized by Rev. William Sinkford, President of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
...members of the church’s congregation are expected to participate in the celebration.
...Rev. Aaron Payson, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, will officiate.
...Rev. Dr. Mykel Johnson, Minister of First Parish Brewster, will conduct their wedding.
...A private ceremony will be held later that evening with United Church of Christ minister, Rev. Kelly Gallager, Pastor of Christ Community UCC officiating.
By my count, that's four ministers and a group of fellow parishoners from recognized churches who will be participating in these ceremonies. Definitely an easy case, if you were inclined to make it, that religious people are not all of one mind about the subject.
Anyway, do click over for the pictures and details, it's very sweet.
