9/11 commissioner defends herself against critics.

In a Washington Post op-ed piece, Jamie Gorelick rebuts the charges of Republican critics who want her to resign from the 9/11 commission. And does a damn good job of shredding their criticisms, we might add.

Gorelick was an undersecretary in the State Department during the Clinton presidency. During her tenure, she wrote a memo outlining procedures for ensuring that the former 'wall' between law enforcement and intelligence was maintained. That 'wall' was later removed by the Patriot Act.

As we posted previously, Gorelick has received death threats since Republican leaders began accusing her authorship of that memo of making her partially responsible for the intelligence failures that led to 9/11.
