It seems that the Hershey Company is pulling up stakes and moving to Mexico. So this means that, like Susie at Suburban Guerrilla, I will not be buying any more of their product. Kansas City has a local chocolatier, Russell Stover. They also own the old and famous Whitman's brand. Guess I will be buying my local chocolates.
In some ways that is good -- they have a whole lot less wax and hardener than Hershey's!

Posted by: Mike G at January 31, 2008 11:09 PMI have not had a Hershey's Kiss in ages, but I wonder, how many things to we buy that are not made in this country, that once were? How many services calls to make or E Mails to we send for support that are answered out of this country?
Posted by: Scott at February 1, 2008 08:27 AMHershey's doesn't make chocolate. They haven't for over a decade. They make a slightly chocolate-flavored wax/hardened-oil concoction that they market as chocolate.
I hope US relations with Mexico don't sour because of this move. ;-D
