Evidently Francis Townsend thinks George W takes after his namesake:
In 1937, the playwright Maxwell Anderson wrote of President George Washington: There are some men who lift the age they inhabit, til all men walk on higher ground in their lifetime.
Mr. President, you are such a man.
It's not enough that we've had to have Bush comparisons to Winston Churchill. Now he gets to imagine himself as George Washington. The afore mentioned great men must be twisting in their graves.

Uh, that would be Frances Townsend, Bush's departing National Security Advisor, not Francis Everett Townsend M.D., the originator of the "Townsend Plan" in the Great Depression. Right?
"Fulsome" is the precise adjective for that kind of praise.

Too bad more people don't read blogs. At least then they wouldn't do the same stupid thing twice.
Be fair, Townsend does have a point. Bush has played a significant role in ignoring global warming, and as a result we *are* all going to have to walk on higher ground to avoid getting our feet wet.
