There's a very simple reason why we have a Second Amendment, the right to keep and bear arms: to retain the ability to rise up against tyranny should it once again be necessary.

That's just silly in an age of modern warfare and modern living. We have to resolve our disputes politically because the swathe of human suffering would be on the order of a Katrina in every major city involved in the conflict. I don't know about you, but I'm not in any hurry to bring downtown Baghdad to downtown Seattle.

Creativity, communication and solidarity are the most effective weapons.
