Bye-bye Ashcroft!

US Attorney General John Ashcroft has resigned.

Of course, Dubya will replace Ashcroft with someone whose politics are just as right-wing, and who has an equal contempt for civil liberties and the constitution — except that the new guy (and it will be a guy) will have a smiley face.

And then Dubya will nominate Ashcroft for a vacancy on the Supreme Court.

It's possible, although it's widely rumored that Ashcroft has a serious form of cancer and that's why he's resigning. And Dubya knows that the Democrats would filibuster him till their eyeballs bled. If he gets nominated, I think it will be as a red herring, in order to force the Democrats to accept a less-controversial (but just as conservative) nominee.

Karma be damned, I hope he's in a lot of pain and for a very long time.

Then let him ask a Dr. to prescibe enough meds to end it all.
