I am on a perpetual diet and can no longer enjoy any of those Samoans, Shortbreads, or Mints so I offered to just give them $10. The lady with the girls selling the cookies declined, saying that it was against the rules to accept the cash without purchase.
So, in order to give the kids $10 in cash, I would have to buy 15 boxes of cookies for a total of $75.
On a side note: In 2000, the Salvation Army paid $4m to lobby the Republicans to sponsor legislation friendly to their core beliefs. Think about that when you drop your change in the little red bucket.
