Gentlemen, Your Circle Is Ready
Not that I needed more convincing, but Richard Perle has finally gone totally starkers. Completely. Barking. Mad. Bob's your uncle. An example:
President George W Bush was sent a public manifesto yesterday by Washington's hawks, demanding regime change in Syria and Iran and a Cuba-style military blockade of North Korea backed by planning for a pre-emptive strike on its nuclear sites.
The manifesto, presented as a "manual for victory" in the war on terror, also calls for Saudi Arabia and France to be treated not as allies but as rivals and possibly enemies. ...
And for those of you who might be thinking that these guys just really aren't getting the kind of karmic comeuppance that all these bad vibes deserve, a commentor at Eschaton clarified their probable disposition apres vie:
Time to re-read Dante's Inferno so I can remind myself of the circles of Hell that Frum and Perle will someday find themselves in.
I would think that it would either be the eighth pocket of the Malebolge (Eighth Circle), reserved for false counsellers, or else Antenora, in the Ninth Circle, reserved for betrayers of party or homeland.
Another speculates on the French Fixation:
I think Perle is trying to drive down real estate prices in France so he can get that chateau he's had his eye on. ...
And indeed, Seymour Hersh noted that Perle likes to use France as a rendezvous point for shady Saudi business deals. Hersh notes in the article that Perle currently has a vacation home in the south of France, so perhaps we have at long last come upon the nut of the crazy case for the War on Terra.
How's the weather in Antenora, anyway? I never had much use for old guys with brimstone fixations.

Such steps, with luck, will prompt China to oust its nominal ally, Kim Jong-il, and install a saner regime in North Korea, the authors write.
Once more these guys believe that they can shape the world on luck -- and just look at the "luck" that George W Bush has brought us so far. Jeebus.
