Exporting jobs from the US.
Reuters is carrying a report on how US corporations are quietly picking up the pace at which they're sending technical and white-collar jobs offshore. But for some reason, says Reuters, they don't want to talk about it especially given that a presidential election is coming up.
"The problem is that companies aren't sure if it's politically correct to talk about it," said Jack Trout, a principal of Trout & Partners, a marketing and strategy firm. "Nobody has come up with a way to spin it in a positive way."
We were going to make a snottily biting comment here, but it would be too much like shooting fish in a barrel.

Posted by: DaveH. on December 24, 2003 07:18 AMAccording to the article , Fox news is one of the companies that have shifted jobs overseas. How's that for patriotism. Maybe they will shift the Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity roles as serial liars overseas.
Posted by: buffalo soldier on December 25, 2003 04:37 AMIt's like off-shore corporations getting a massive tax dodge receiving multi-billion dollar government contracts. Why would the media care about that?
Howard Dean has a great plan for keeping jobs here - it involves paying foreign labor more, but of course the simple-minded right will spin that into him being a supporter of terrorists so I guess he has to be careful on how he approaches it
