Happy holidays from the Department of Homeland Security.
Go out to breakfast for an hour or so and what happens? The US government raises the terror alert level to orange. (Orange, for those of you with short memories, is the second-highest level.)
We see that the homeland security czar says that 'terrorist chatter' is the highest since just before 9/11. We recall that was the case when they raised the alert level back in the late spring. We imagine that nothing will happen this time, either, but that maybe jerking the public's chain a little might cause Dubya's poll numbers to lift a bit.
