Getting More Democrats in Congress
The Republicans only hold a 12 seat majority in the House of Representatives, and every seat we can win back is a poke in the eye for Tom DeLay. That's why I'd like to urge Democrats from anywhere at all to support Alex Alben in his fight against Jennifer Dunn.
Dunn was elected to congress from Washington's 8th congressional district in 1992, but is now reported to be tired of office, and holding on to the seat only out of the hope that she can pass it on to her son. She votes with Tom DeLay about ninety percent of the time, and is eminently beatable.
Alben is a staunch Democrat, with a commitment to the environment and reproductive freedom. He understands that part of making America more secure means adding to our list of supportive friends and allies, building up port security and emergency services at home, and securing known reserves of dangerous weapons stockpiles.
I'd ask visitors not only to contribute to Alben's campaign, but if you have your own blog, to ask your readers to do the same. Dunn is backed with the usual Republican big donor cash, please help back Alben with grassroots enthusiasm.
