Exactly who should be apologizing for what?

Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry seems to have gotten Dubya's attention with his recent interview with Rolling Stone. Kerry attacked the administration's actions in Iraq, saying: 'Did I expect George Bush to fuck it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did.'

Now the White House chief of staff is urging Kerry to apologize for his swearing. In an interview with CNN, Andrew Card said he's 'disappointed that [Kerry] would use that kind of language,' and called Kerry's choice of words 'beneath him.'

A spokesperson for Kerry says that no apology will be forthcoming.

We'd suggest that, rather than worrying about whether Kerry should have used the particular expletive he did, the White House could take a more productive stance by apologizing to the people of the US for fucking up so badly in Iraq. We won't hold our breath in expectation, though.

Andy Card is a poo-poo head!

O my offense is rank; it smells to heaven!
It hath the primal eldest curse upon't,
A brother's murder. Pray can I not,
Though inclination be as sharp as will:
My stronger guilt defeats my strong intent;
Because I am such a poo-poo head...

Candle’s story how can I tell?
Of the broken heart’s living hell?
My sorrow is in how I can find
Another who knows these sorrows well.

O Hafiz, perturb thyself no more
What an idle coil is it indeed,
To be vexed by a poo-poo head!

The autumn hills hoard scarlet from the setting sun.
Flying birds chase their mates,
Now and then patches of blue sky break clear --
Andrew Card is a poo-poo head

Gleaned from other blogs and the Web...

Q: Did you feel you were blindsided by Dean's success?

A: "Well, not blindsided. I mean, when I voted for the war, I voted for what I thought was best for the country. Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, 'I'm against everything?' Sure. Did I expect George Bush to fuck it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did."
-- John Kerry, in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, December 2, 2003 (RS 938-939, December 25, 2003)

"Fuck Saddam. We're taking him out."
-- George W. Bush, March 2002, as reported in Time

"You no-good fucking son of a bitch, I will never fucking forget what you wrote."
-- George W. Bush, to journalist Al Hunt in front of his 4-year-old daughter, 1987

"They train young men to drop fire on people but their commanders won't allow them to write 'fuck' on their airplanes because... it's obscene."
