Happy Thanksgiving
Whether you're going to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends, or a much needed dose of peace and quiet, have a good one.
Also, cross your fingers for me. This year, for the first time ever, I will attempt to cook a whole bird. It's very small, but still. I'm well armed with one of those cooking bag thingies, which my grandparents swear by, but I'm still a little squeamish about the whole stuffing thing.
But really, I've never liked the idea of immediate contact with raw meat. Hence the whole-bird-cooking avoidance. How did I make it to adulthood with this attitude intact? It hasn't been by turning vegetarian, so who knows. Anyway, it's about to get a good hard kick.
Yet while I'm getting over my whole, raw bird fear, many people would jump at the chance to trade problems with me. And here in Washington, Northwest Harvest does a lot of good work distributing food to hunger relief charities in all parts of the state. With an unemployment rate above the national average, and economic recovery expected to lag the rest of the country, there are a lot of families here who could use some help getting through hard times. If your family can afford it this year, please consider helping out.
And now, we're off to enjoy what Lewis Black called the holiday where we "stuff food into other food." Pretty much sums it up.
Cheers to all,

Happy Thanksgiving, natasha. Hope that turkey was delicious and your guests appreciative.
And thanks for reminding us that we should remember those who are less fortunate in our midst.

I put in $100. I don't mean to brag, I hate it it seems that way, but it's just truth, is all.
Natasha's the real deal. Any time I can do anything, ma'am.
