Wednesday Reading
Well, the 'partial-birth' abortion ban is law. I'm incredibly ticked off about this, though Governor Dean expresses it better. Here's the ACLU fact page, and an interesting story about two allegedly pro-choice Republicans who voted for the bill.
Body and Soul discusses a recent Bush administration move that will continue our government's long and storied tradition of screwing Native Americans, and getting a twofer package containing a little environmental destruction as a bonus.
She also pointed out a good Atrios post documenting the wing-nut debating style, a kind of intellectual dumb-fu which achieves the effect of stupefying all non-poli-geeks within earshot.
Over at the Whiskey Bar, Billmon gives us a double-shot of the US' probably illegal reformation of Iraqi tax law, and a light cocktail of CBS' future production decisions (irony alert.)
Leah A of Corrente doesn't want us to be fooled by the conservative Linda Tripp whitewash, the usual outright fabrications. Of course, they're usually only clear to people who know the source material, because the lies are the stories that get repeated so often that everyone thinks they must be true.
In the Nation, John Nichols discusses the need for a rural strategy for Democrats.
