Visibility Day Roundup
Are YOU doing anything to make the Dean campaign more visible today?
I'm going to be standing on a busy corner with some friends holding a sign, wearing a Dean tee, and waving at cars. If this kind of thing didn't work, then I have a feeling that local politicians would long ago have stopped asking volunteers to do it. Also, my car windows are now stickered in three directions, which would be the first time I've ever gone in for using my car as a billboard.
Dave Cullen has a Dean News page that seems fairly comprehensive.
Former President Jimmy Carter says that he sees some of himself in Howard Dean.
Paul Krugman explains that he isis not allowed to endorse Dean:
..."One of the Democratic candidates - who I'm not endorsing, because I'm not allowed to endorse - has as his slogan, 'I want my country back'," Krugman says, referring to the campaigning motto of Howard Dean. "I think that's about right."...
And by way of usefully recycling a still pertinent article, Alternet makes the progressive case for Howard Dean. It thoroughly addresses the downsides progressives might see in Dean, including his stances on gun control, military spending, and foreign policy, while praising his record on the environment and social spending. And crucially, it addresses the electability question, noting that even this early in the game he's proven capable of reaching demographics that Democrats usually have a hard time with.
