Energy Override
NOW with Bill Moyers this evening discussed the Clear Skies initiative, and many other topics besides. One especially interesting point they brought up regarded the dissent over the EPA report's mention of climate change.
The Council on Environmental Quality advises the White House on how EPA recommendations should be coordinated with other agencies. NOW talks about them here. According to the report this evening, the CEQ was entirely responsible for what was described as a 'lack of scientific consensus.' They have no scientists working at the CEQ.
This is the official biography of CEQ head, James Connaughton. It describes him as having a great deal of experience in environmental policy advising. This is the description that Mother Jones gave of his work experience:
Connaughton lobbied on behalf of power companies and major electricity users; he also represented companies fighting Superfund cleanup rules. He co-authored a 1993 law journal article, "Defending Charges of Environmental Crime -- The Growth Industry of the '90s."
A WaPo article summarizes his comments on the 9-11 safety recommendations.

What's going on is so obvious to anyone that pays attention. The sad thing is how few people do so.
