Democrats Have More Fun
Not only did we have lots of goofy fun at our Space Needle flashmob today, but we collected 120 pounds of food for Northwest Harvest. They told me to be sure and say "thank you" to everyone.
So, thank you, everyone. And big hellos to Jake at 8BitJoystick who came over on the ferry from Bremerton to join us, and Mike from Seattle for Dean who got all this local Dean Corp goodness started.
Update: More updates and perspectives on the official blog.
Update, the second: Covered online by the Seattle PI and KOMO 4 news. Also, I made it on the local channel 7 5pm news. So *that's* who brought the camera right up as soon as I stepped out of the way of someone else's. A million thanks to whoever edited that clip down to my only coherent remark. Clearly, my 15 minutes of fame have passed, thank the editor I won't have to kick myself over it forever.
Update, the third: My name is not Dale MacFarland. I mention this because the SO insisted on staying up to watch the 11 o'clock news in hopes that they would replay the 5 second clip of me talking to tape it and show to a friend. And it's then that we notice that the name at the bottom of the screen is, in fact, Dale MacFarland. And I'm wondering if the universe is trying to tell me something. No more than a couple weeks ago, someone else's comments were misattributed to me in a paper. Now my comments are misattributed to someone else. And the only thing I can think about all of this is that the world may be more inclined towards good jokes than I'd previously suspected. Heh.
More online coverage in the Seattle Times. A couple other local papers have reprinted one or another of the stories already linked.
