Bush Promises to Stick It Out
Josh Micah Marshall posted excerpts from Bush's speech for this evening.
"Two years ago, I told the Congress and the country that the war on terror would be a lengthy war, a different kind of war, fought on many fronts in many places. Iraq is now the central front. Enemies of freedom are making a desperate stand there, and there they must be defeated. This will take time, and require sacrifice. Yet we will do whatever is necessary, we will spend what is necessary, to achieve this essential victory in the war on terror, to promote freedom, and to make our Nation more secure."
I just love it when Bush talks about sacrifice and how we will spend whatever is required. What sacrifice are he and his cronies making? When is he going to ask them to give back some of that exorbitant tax cut that he gave them in the midst of a war he chose so his friends could get rich? His idea of sacrifice is to let other people fight while he struts around like a bantam cock and to pile on the debt for "the little people" to pay. Screw him.

For anyone who isn't lucky enough to have met Mary personally, 'screw him' is about the equivalent of a string of invective that would, all by itself, give a movie an R rating.
Posted by: natasha on September 7, 2003 09:22 PMI'm with you all the way on this one, Mary. Didn't even bother to watch the little twerp. Why should I? The speech never changes. Judging from what I've been reading on the blogs in the past hour, I didn't miss a thing ... except a severe case of heartburn coupled with apoplexy.
We WILL get our country back, Mary. We WILL send this lying SOB packing all the way back to his pig farm in Crawford.
