A QUESTION FOR YOU ...
In her post below, Natasha notes an article written by Andrew Graham for the London Guardian, in which he eloquently states:
When ... a large proportion of Americans are reputed to believe that Saddam Hussein was implicated in al-Qaida terrorism, a belief for which there is not a shred of credible evidence, one wonders if the world's largest democracy is being well served by its media.
Indeed. And how well served have we been by the military hierarchy? As part of my research over at the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count, I make a point of looking up articles on every soldier who dies and posting them to that person's profile in the details section. Today I ran across an article for one soldier that seemed a lot like all the others I have read ... until I got to this curious paragraph:
Before this tour of duty, when he and his unit were training in New Jersey, they were taken by their superiors to ground zero, the site of the World Trade Center attacks, "to see what you're fighting for," Franklin's family recalled.
Excuse me? What? These were soldiers training for duty in IRAQ ... yet they were taken to Ground Zero and told they were fighting because of the World Trade Center disaster?? Is this what our soldiers are regularly told by their superiors?? That Saddam was responsible?
God help this country if that is the case.
