Bush Campaign Engaging Bloggers
One final story to leave you with: Bush Campaign Reaching Out to Bloggers. Great. The site will feature canned email:
A letter can be automatically e-mailed to newspapers, and all the supporter has to do is paste in pre-scripted text such as, "President Bush should be commended for his strong leadership on the economy."
Remember, the White House doesn't accept email anymore, but they don't mind putting out their own spam. We'll have to watch for these letters and make sure to point them out. But it seems perfect for a bunch of dittoheads that don't want to take the time to actually think about the issues and write their own letters.
And it says that one of Bush's top priorities is the environment. I'll say. It consists of selling it off to the highest bidder, despoiling it by extracting every last penny he can, and blithely sticking his head in the sand about global warming. Jeez, we'll be lucky to have an environment when he is finally ousted.
Update: Check out the environmental letters page. Includes talking points and issues. And you don't even have to know the email address for the editor, as it fills it your choices when you enter your zip code. (Courtesy of Slate's Chatterbox.)
Perhaps one thing we could do is to use their email forms to compose our anti-Bush letters. It would be a good way to correct the record.

Ooops, that's not fair and balanced. (1)
On the other hand, it does underscore the power of Blogistan when even the Imperium recognizes that we are a power to be reckoned with.

From Matt Yglesias' weblog (http://www.matthewyglesias.com/):
Sabotage
Ezra Klein has unveiled a rather clever scheme for sabotaging the new GWB2004 web action center and, hopefully, driving the Bushies out of the web organizing business for good. Take a click over and start spreading the word, via your blog or e-mail list or what have you -- who knows, maybe you still talk to people on the phone.
