Not That Washington
State official says voting machine technology is a victim of benign neglect while speaking at this USENIX conference. Washington state is currently considering the switch to electronic voting.
In contrast to Diebold, this Bellevue company wants their electronic voting system submitted to rigorous public testing. Diebold has come under fire as a recent study indicated that their proprietary voting system is full of holes, even as many states prepare for major upgrades to their voting systems.
Jon Stahl comes through with information on the upcoming Seattle Bush protests in honor of the president's upcoming visit to our corner of the country. Rumor has it that because he's on vacation, he doesn't have to mingle with the hoi polloi, and will restrict himself to $1000+ a plate dinners with close, personal donors.
