Blog Roundup
Daily Kos: More on the California governor recall election. Deaths of Qusay and Uday Hussein backfiring due to poor handling. The recently released 9-11 report shows no link between Iraq and Al Qaida.
Talk Left: Media deregulation defeated in the House. Medical marijuana goes to a vote for the first time ever.
The Left Coaster: Timeline for the Iraqi uranium allegations. What the heck is Bush doing threatening Iran and Syria? Condoleeza Rice caught in a lie. The Washington Post continues to attack the administration by the expedient tactic of talking about what they're up to.
Ruminate This: What exactly is Clinton doing apologizing for Bush? President gets set to veto the bill that rolls back FCC deregulation. Call to oppose the confirmation of William Pryor.
Pandagon: Even with a cracked septum, Jesse is as capable as ever of spotting wingnut idiocy.
The Sideshow: Why this administration has been great for everyone else's economy. We're pointed to an essay on how to defeat the right in three minutes.
Veiled4Allah: Some thoughts on polygamy. Background on the Baha'i faith.
Whiskey Bar: More disgruntled Americans contemplate Canada. Apparently, the current US policy on North Korea is a mess of contradictions. Who knew? Also, the administration has finally begun to realize that it was a bad idea to mess with the CIA.
MaxSpeak: In speaking about hypocrisy, Max brings us yet another way that the administration has messed with the CIA: the public outing of a deep cover operative. Also, would additional troops really fix Iraq at this point?
CalPundit: More on the outing of the CIA agent, and additional follow up. And about those Husseins, why was there no attempt to take them alive, and who turned them in?
How To Save The World: Dave Pollard takes on the idea that beauty equals symmetry. A tremendous post on why fighting existing realities is futile without creating an alternate system.
Lisa Rein: If you lived in DC, you might not know there was a recession.
PLA: More straight talk about frivolous lawsuits.
Frog N' Blog: The return of Hunter S. Thompson. Good polemic, but I can never shake the personal reminders of 'Fear and Loathing.'
Estimated Prophet: Comments on extrajudicial killings, otherwise known as assassination.
Wampum: More on the Indian affairs case against Gale Norton. Bush administration does a 180 on support for historically black colleges.
Educated Guesswork: Ekr wonders if it's possible to weaponize Microsoft VPs.
Posted by natasha at July 24, 2003 04:30 AMThe "no link" claim has been retracted by UPI.
Posted by: HH on July 28, 2003 05:12 PMWhat exactly does that mean? As a statement of fact, your assertion may hold, but you haven't provided a reference and I'm not going to bother either looking it up or contesting it.
If you're trying to suggest that a link has been found, well, if there were evidence of that I think we'd all know of it by now. That the administration couldn't come up with more than hints and allegations, even with all the political hot water they've gotten in, there was no link. And if Tony Blair could have produced such a smashing good point to make his case on, it would be out on the table. He's a few steps away from losing his job, but mysteriously, no evidence has emerged that suggests he had any reason beyond "I'm with Bush."
They got nothin'.
